Royal Ordnance Factory, Bishopton

Thanks to Robert Edminson, we have been sent - via a link in the Scotsman newspaper - to a site lots of photographs relating to the old Royal Ordnance factory at Bishopton near Glasgow. Further links on the site showed many photos from the old Nobel explosives factory at Ardeer.

The photographs and site appear to belong to Ben Cooper who has published a book about these sites. You can read more about his book , 'Explosive Scotland', HERE.

As the site is slightly confusing and - to get the pictures in the correct order - the URLs for the various parts are as follow:

ROYAL ORDNANCE FACTORY BISHOPTON
  1. Part 1
  2. Part 2
  3. Part 3
NOBEL EXPLOSIVES AT AREDEER
  1. Part 1
  2. Part 2
  3. Part 3
  4. Part 4
  5. Part 5
  6. Part 6
It is also worth looking at Wikipedia for more on the ROF Bishopton.
